The opening credits for Half Nelson were passed around on Twitter this week. Created by Quincy M.E. co-creators Glen A. Larson and Lou Shaw, Half Nelson lasted for nine episodes as an NBC midseason replacement in spring 1985. Pesci played Rocky Nelson, a former New York City cop who moved to Beverly Hills, where he got a job at a private security service for the rich and famous. His co-stars included Victoria Jackson, Gary Grubbs, retired pro football players Fred Williamson, Bubba Smith and Dick Butkus, plus Dean Martin as himself. Half Nelson was a rare disappointment for Larson, who was responsbile for legendary shows such as Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I., Battlestar Galactica, The Fall Guy and Buck Rogers and the 25th Century.
