Rogers “passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” his family said in a statement. Rogers died less than a month before A&E's premiere of Biography: Kenny Rogers on April 13. As Variety notes, Rogers was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, six-time CMA Awards winner, three-time Grammy Awards winner, recipient of the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, CMT Artist of a Lifetime Award honoree and has been voted the “Favorite Singer of All Time” in a joint poll by readers of both USA Today and People. Rogers was also an actor in a number of TV movies and shows, including Touched by an Angel and Reno 911! One of his final roles was voicing "Kindly Book Narrator" on How I Met Your Mother.
