Chappelle is reteaming with the streaming service next year following his transgender controversy over The Closer. He'll be among the many big names performing between April 29 and May 8 at more than 25 venues in Los Angeles for the Netflix is a Joke Festival, which was originally supposed to launch in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. The festival will feature Gabriel Iglesias as the first comedian to headline a performance at Dodger Stadium. Other performers include Chris Rock, Chelsea Handler, Conan O'Brien, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, Seth Rogen, Tig Notaro, Ken Jeong, Bill Burr, Amy Poehler and Ellen DeGeneres. As Deadline notes, Netflix star Hannah Gadsby is notably absent among the performers after publicly calling out Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and Dave Chappelle over The Closer.
