Empire gets Alfre Woodard to play Cookie's mom

The four-time Emmy winner will recur in the second half of Season 4 as Cookie's estranged mother. Woodard's casting will reunite her with Taraji P. Henson, her co-star in the 2008 film Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys.
