The drama starring Thorne about a college student who gets her big break in a Hollywood blockbuster was one of Freeform's lowest-rated series. Freeform's cancelation comes three days after The Hollywood Reporter reported the cancelation, citing high costs and Hulu opting not to pay more for Season 3 -- plus an alleged feud between showrunner I. Marlene King and Thorne, who was described as having "diva-like behavior" on set. Both Freeform and King denied the show was canceled, and Thorne expressed shock that she wasn't told of the cancelation in advance. King also denied any feud with Thorne as she rallied fans to push Freeform to order a Season 3 renewal. As recently as yesterday, King had high hopes for a renewal. "We have such great story planned for season 3. Fingers crossed," King tweeted. Freeform released a statement confirming the cancelation: “We are proud to have had the opportunity to air Famous In Love. After many discussions with our partners at Warner Horizon, we have made the difficult decision not to renew the show for a third season. We want to thank our colleagues at Warner Horizon and our incredible producers, writers, cast and crew, especially Marlene King, for their creativity, hard work and dedication.” Thorne has yet to respond to the cancelation news.
