As Variety points out, Aldrin and Michael Collins are nominated for best cinematography for CNN's Apollo 11 documentary for filming their 1969 trip to the moon. Lear, who turned 98 on Monday, beat his old record as the oldest-ever Emmy nominee. Lear was 96 last year when he earned an Emmy nomination. Variety also notes that three different versions of Apple are nominated this year: Apple TV+, Apple Music and Apple AirPods, which was nominated for outstanding commercial.
