The launch of Disney+ last year excited fans of Gargoyles, a dark and complex fantasy show that aired mostly in syndication from 1994 to 1997. Because it launched shortly before the Simpson trial began in 1995, Gargoyles' first two seasons were disrupted by its syndicated stations regularly preempting the show. "The viewership was fractured," says creator Greg Weisman. "It sounds bizarre that OJ Simpson helped destroy Gargoyles, but it’s true." Still, Weisman is holding out hope that Gargoyles will become a movie, possibly from Jordan Peele.
