Treem, co-creator of Showtime's The Affair, is teaming with producer Warren Littlefield to adapt Curtis Sittenfeld's bestselling 2020 novel Rodham that imagines would would've happened if Hillary Clinton had never married Bill Clinton. Hillary Rodham and Bill Clinton began dating at Yale Law School in spring 1971 and tied the knot with in October 1975, forming one of history's most famous power couples. Rodham asks what would've happened to Hillary Clinton's life and the United States had she made a different choice. Hulu describes Rodham as "a modern parable about choices, feminism and why this country has such a complicated relationship to women in power… Rodham tells the story of an ambitious young woman, developing her extraordinary mind in the latter part of the 20th century, moving from idealism to cynicism and all the way back again." Should Rodham be picked up to series, it would be Hulu's second Hillary Clinton series after last year's four part docuseries Hillary.
