Filming in Toronto, the Chicago-set CW comedy-drama has struggled to capture the Windy City in its first season. Creator Corinne Kingsbury set her series about an irreverent blind woman in Chicago because she assumed she would film there. For Season 2, production designer Nazgol Goshtasbpour says she intends to make sure In the Dark is more representative of Chicago. “What I would like to do is go back to Chicago and just look at it with a different eye and photograph most of it," says Goshtasbpour. "When we come back for a second season, I would like to do more that I can for street signs and just the overall exterior vibes of the locations to make sure they’re more authentic and they look even more like Chicago."
