The Late Late Show host explained in detail on Ellen why he had recent minor eye surgery. Corden said he first suffered a scratch on his eye while performing on the Broadway stage years ago, when he'd get hit in the head a trashcan lid on a nightly basis. The eye problem subsided until about a year ago, when it flared up again, resulting in him being towed for the infamous Bieber segment. "The reason I didn't drive that day was because my eye was really hurting and we were worried that it wouldn't be safe," Corden said, adding that it was recently that he was told to get minor surgery on his eye. "Three weeks ago I woke up and I couldn't open my eye," he said. After struggling to find his phone and Advil, he reached out to his doctor. "He said, 'Look, I think we have to sort this out. I think this has been happening too many times.'"
