Corden has responded to the recent outcry that the comedy big that has been a Late Late Show staple since 2016 is culturally insensitive to Asians. TikTok user Kim Saira pointed out that many of the dishes that were portrayed as "gross" were Asian, and launched a petition calling for the segment to end. Recently on The Howard Stern Show, Corden addressed the controversy when asked, saying: "We heard that story, and the next time we do that bit we absolutely won't involve or use any of those foods...As you said at the start, our show is a show about joy and light and love, we don't want to make a show to upset anybody." As an example of how the segment can be tweaked, Corden recalled when Anna Wintour was the guest and they served up a pizza with cheeseburgers on it.
