The Disney+ Star Wars universe is expanding into game show territory with Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, hosted by Ahmed Best, who famously played Jar Jar Binks the prequel Star Wars trilogy. Best will be joined by a humanoid droid companion, voiced by Mary Holland. Jedi Temple Challenge, premiering next fall, “tests young contestants’ abilities in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery as they face thrilling and fun obstacles,” says Disney. “This is definitely a kids game show like no other,” says Mickey Capoferri, Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content & Programming. “The various challenges will test a Padawan’s connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, on board a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi Temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.” Disney says Best was tapped to serve as host and mentor because he has a "unique set of skills as an actor, dancer, martial arts expert, STOMP musician, and Star Wars fan."
