The actor has completed a deal with ViacomCBS to turn his hit YouTube pandemic talk show into a regular weekly series -- one that he won't host, but is expected to have an recurring on-air presence on. The YouTube series premiered March 29 and aired eight episodes through this past Sunday before going on hiatus. Variety reports the deal calls for Comedy Central Productions to produce the weekly series that will likely premiere on CBS All Access with the possibility it will also be shown on other ViacomCBS platforms. “Could not be more excited and proud to be partnering with CBS/Viacom to be able to bring ‘Some Good News’ to so many more people,” Krasinski said in a statement. “From the first episode, our goal was to create a news show dedicated entirely to good news. Never did I expect to be joining the ranks of such a historic news organization as CBS.” Krasinski has spent seven years tinkering with the idea for Some Good News, which he co-created with his producing partner Allyson Seege, before deciding to turn it into a YouTube series amid the coronavirus pandemic.
