During an online-only "Cereal" rant posted Sunday, Oliver complained that Cheerios' Twitter account was boring. He promised to donate $25,000 if Cheerios tweeted "F*ck you," adding that he would double the amount if the cereal account tagged a random user. Cheerios responded that it couldn't drop an F-bomb, but pledged $50,000 if Last Week Tonight tweeted "Families make good go round." Last Week Tonight responded by posting images of the Manson family and the Menendez Brothers, plus a photo referencing the Sackler family.
