Apple has given a straight-to-series order to The Last Thing He Told Me, starring Roberts and produced by Reese Witherspoon based on Laura Dave’s upcoming novel of the same name that is scheduled to be released in May. The Last Thing He Told Me, Roberts' second TV series after Amazon's Homecoming in 2018, follows a woman (Roberts) who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared. Roberts will serve as executive producer along with Witherspoon, who's producing through her Hello Sunshine production company. Dave is penning the TV adaptation of The Last Thing He Told Me with Josh Singer, who won an Oscar co-writing the screenplay for Spotlight. With Roberts and Witherspoon's involvement, the show boasts three Oscar winners.
