Las Vegas mayor shocks Anderson Cooper in "trainwreck" interview calling for the reopening of casinos and hotels

Mayor Carolyn Goodman called Cooper "alarmist" after the CNN anchor pressed her on her push to lift the coronavirus quarantine lockdown. After Cooper noted that Chinese researchers have shown how restaurants can easily be infected, Goodman responded: “This isn’t China. This is Las Vegas, Nevada.” To which Coopers said: “Wow. Okay, that’s really ignorant. That’s an ignorant statement. That’s a restaurant, and yes it’s in China but they are human beings too.” Las Vegas native Jimmy Kimmel was among those watching the interview. "Dear Las @Vegas. It would appear that your @mayoroflasvegas Carolyn Goodman is dangerously misguided. I am not easily shocked anymore, but the interview she is doing with @andersoncooper @cnn right now is bonkers," Kimmel tweeted, adding: "The @mayoroflasvegas Carolyn Goodman should resign before lunch arrives today. She is an embarrassment to my hometown."
