The dramedy from Darren Star already finished filming before the coronavirus shutdown. As ViacomCBS shakes up its approach for developing shows, Vulture reports that Netflix is in discussions to acquire Emily in Paris, a culture-clash dramedy about a young Midwestern woman played by Collins who ends up working for a French marketing firm. Vulture's Josef Adalian reports that "it seems ViacomCBS brass decided the show’s best chance for long-term success was not on Paramount Network but on a streaming platform."
