The streaming service and the Viacom cable network will produce kid- and family-targeted films and TV series based on Nickelodeon's existing library of original characters and new intellectual property. Netflix and Nickelodeon have already worked together for revivals of past hit shows, including Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling and Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus. The deal, however, may provide a hint of Nickelodeon's digital future after Viacom and CBS reunite, especially since CBS already has its own CBS All Access streaming service. ALSO: The deal includes a music-based project revolving around SpongeBob's Squidward.
