After winning the Miss America title in 1971, George co-hosted Candid Camera, which led to her becoming host of The NFL Today on CBS in 1974 with Irv Cross, Brent Musburger and Jimmy the Greek. George was one of the first women to have a nationally prominent role reporting for television sports. George famously got Dallas Cowboys QB Roger Staubach to admit he likes sex as much as Joe Namath, but with only one woman.
