"Instead of debating Vice President Biden, President Trump will instead tomorrow do a town hall hosted by NBC News at -- I kid you not! -- the exact same time that Joe Biden will be holding a previously announced town hall on ABC News, which is as odd as you think it is." Maddow said near the end of her show Wednesday in reaction to NBC News scheduling its town hall at the same time as Biden's town hall. "This event tomorrow is not an MSNBC event. It is being done by NBC News. But it will be simulcast on our air starting at 8 p.m." Earlier in the hour, Maddow was interviewing Kamala Harris when she asked the Democratic vice presidential candidate about the competing town halls: “Are you as mad as everybody else is that NBC is doing a town hall with President Trump tomorrow?” asked Maddow. Harris, who had begun to crack up at the question before Maddow had finished it, paused for a few seconds and then firmly declared: “I’m not touching that.” Harris' comment prompted Maddow to double over her desk in laughter. “Let me ask you — different angle,” Maddow said once she had regained her composure. “Should the networks refuse to give the president other opportunities for airtime if he’s the one who refuses the chance to debate?” Harris responded: “You know, I’m not going to tell the networks what to do. But I’ll tell you I know who I’m going to be watching. So, there you go.” ALSO: Kamala Harris tells Maddow she did notice the fly on Mike Pence's head during last week's VP debate.
