In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision on Friday to overturn Roe v. Wade, networks are shifting from standard coverage to special programming. Multiple special reports have been announced for Friday evening and more are expected to be released throughout the rest of the day and into the weekend, per Deadline.
MSNBC has arranged for a variety of special programs. The Rachel Maddow Show will air Friday evening, breaking from its regular schedule. NARAL Pro-Choice America President Mini Timmaraju will join host Rachel Maddow and Democratic Rep. Pramilla Jayapal. In addition, MSNBC will have The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle increase its coverage to two hours.
Weekend coverage on the network will also see special reports with anchor Andrea Mitchell reporting from noon to 2 PM ET on Saturday and Yasmin Vossaughian reporting live from the Supreme Court on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 PM ET. Sunday will see Jonathan Capehart and Alicia Menendez hosting live from the New York City Pride parade.
CBS Evening News will have anchor Norah O'Donnell reporting from the Supreme Court and interviewing the CEO of Planned Parenthood, Alexis McGill Johnson.
At 8 PM ET, PBS will air The End of Roe: A PBS NewsHour Special Report. According to PBS, Judy Woodruff will look at "division on the court, the anti-abortion activism that led to today’s decision," as well as "the next steps as the battle over abortion access shifts to the states."
Following the Newshour Special Report at 8:30 ET, Washington Week's Yamiche Alcindor will feature a special episode focused fully on the Roe v. Wade decision. Her guests will include the Politico reporter who broke the leak of the draft opinion in May.
