The Chicago P.D. vet has signed on for a CBS drama pilot for the second year in a row, playing the title role in Good Sam. Last year, CBS opted not to pick up Bush's conspiracy thriller Surveillance. In Good Sam, "talented yet stifled heart surgeon Sam (Bush) embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss, Griff (not yet cast), falls into a coma," per Variety. "When he awakens and wants to resume surgery, however, it falls to her to supervise this overbearing blowhard who never acknowledged her talents — and also happens to be her father." Since leaving Chicago P.D. in 2017, Bush has guest-starred on This Is Us and Jane the Virgin and is recurring on Disney+'s upcoming Love, Victor.
