A Condé Nast spokesperson said "as a result of our investigation, Jeffrey Toobin is no longer affiliated with the company." Toobin was placed on leave last month for what he called an "embarrassingly stupid mistake" of exposing himself. Vice later reported that Toobin masturbated while The New Yorker and the WNYC staff participated in an election simulation over video conference. "I was fired today by @NewYorker after 27 years as a Staff Writer," tweeted Toobin, who also works as CNN's chief legal analyst. "I will always love the magazine, will miss my colleagues, and will look forward to reading their work." No word yet on whether CNN will take disciplinary action. After the initial incident, CNN said Toobin requested time off "while he deals with a personal issue, which we have granted.”
