Released earlier this month, the bestselling Moneyball and The Big Short author's new book examines the chaos and mismanagement that followed the transition from the Obama administration to the Trump administration in the Departments of Energy, Agriculture and Commerce. As Deadline notes, Lewis' book describes how "the previous administration created briefing books for the next staff, but those who showed up on behalf of the new administration were greatly unqualified and far and few between." Deadline adds that the potential series intends to help people understand the inner workings of government. Lewis reveals the Obama deal on Katie Couric's podcast coming out on Thursday. He tells Couric he intended The Fifth Risk to be "a civics lesson…I did three departments, because it would be the work of many lifetimes to do the whole government, but you could do this in a fun way across the entire government.”
