The untitled comedy is about a divorced couple who successfully co-parent a blended multiracial family. Brady and his ex-wife Mandie Taketa, who is Japanese-American, will co-write and produce the potential series with former Will & Grace writer-producers Tracy Poust and Jon Kinnally. Brady and Taketa, who were married from 1999 to 2007, share a 17-year-old daughter: Maile Masako Brady. Brady says the idea for the series came after he spent a lot of time in quarantine with his ex-wife, her boyfriend and their daughter. “It’s been natural for us. We didn’t need a quarantine to do this, we’ve been doing it for Maile’s whole life,” Brady said. “Now we have a sitcom that we are working on with our friends who were the showrunners over at Will & Grace, Tracy and Jon. We’re writing a script about our life as a blended family, we call ourselves the ‘core four.'"
