Wednesday was Cosby's first full day in Pennsylvania's State Correctional Institution Phoenix, a 3,830-bed prison where he is now Inmate NN7687. Cosby is being kept away from the general population in his own cell out of concern for his safety. As Sopan Deb reports, "if Mr. Cosby chooses to, he can work at a job that pays between 19 and 42 cents an hour. Many tasks involve maintenance of the 164-acre prison, which has a 1.5-mile perimeter. He could also work in the library, chapel, medical facility or kitchen. While Mr. Cosby is isolated, he will be allowed outside into a small yard adjacent to his unit, which has a partial roof to protect the area from the elements. Like the rest of the general population, he will be allowed outside for two hours in the morning and two more in the afternoon." ALSO: O.J. Simpson worries Cosby will be attacked in prison.
