At 61, Brad Pitt is practically Hollywood royalty—though, as he revealed on the New Heights podcast, even royalty has idols. In a candid chat with NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce on July 2, Pitt stunned listeners by admitting he was floored meeting two seasoned actresses. And yes, he “got over it quickly.”
The incident in question is from the sets of his breakout role in Thelma & Louise (1991), where he shared the screen with these iconic women. Pitt named Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as the only co-stars he was ever starstruck by.
Brad Pitt didn’t just breeze through Thelma & Louise—he nearly stumbled into reverence when first meeting co-stars Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.
“When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was. Yeah,” he confessed, adding with a laugh, “I got over it quickly, though”.
Clearly, being starstruck for a moment didn’t derail his charm as J.D., the lovable rogue. Pitt praised Davis as “sweet and kind and delicate,” recalling a two-day shoot for their love scene in a 2023 W Magazine interview. Meanwhile, Sarandon later applauded his humor and depth: as she told Extra in 2021, he brought more to the role than eye candy—his wit infused unexpected layers into J.D. Davis echoed praise too, telling People in 2020:
“He just has it. … I could tell when he was auditioning that he was super talented.”.
The movie world's spotlight is now firmly on Brad Pitt's recent film, F1: The Movie, where he plays Sonny Hayes, a ’90s racing phenom who had a devastating crash. The film opened strong—over $144 million globally—but Pitt warns younger actors against franchise fixation. He told the Kelces:
“Don’t sell out.”
On the personal front, Pitt finalized his divorce from Angelina Jolie in 2024 and is now reportedly dating 35-year-old jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, with whom he’s been spotted at premieres and restaurants. On the aforementioned podcast with the Kelces, he also opened up about struggles post-split, noting how recovery and sobriety remain important pillars in his life.
