Anthony Anderson Won't Return for Law & Order Season 22

After reprising his role as Detective Kevin Bernard in NBC's revival, Anthony Anderson will not be returning for Law & Order Season 22.
Original Law & Order stars Anderson and Sam Waterston only signed one-year deals to return to the NBC revival for its 21st season. According to Deadline, Anderson reprised his role to support creator Dick Wolf, but "always planned to move on after" one season.
Waterston has not yet announced whether he will return, but the actor appeared onstage at NBCUniversal's upfront, a potential indicator that he plans to remain in the NBC family.
