Blockbuster Canceled After 1 Season

Netflix has axed Blockbuster after one season. 

The streamer has opted not to move forward with the Randall Park-starring workplace comedy following its lackluster debut the first week of November. Blockbuster has failed to make Netflix's Weekly Top 10 rankings since its premiere and received middling critical reviews. 

Helmed by Vanessa Ramos (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Superstore), David Caspe (Happy Endings), and Jackie Clarke (Superstore, Happy Endings), Blockbuster starred Park, Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Olga Merediz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) alongside a young ensemble cast. 

Set in the titular store, Blockbuster follows Timmy Yoon (Park), a man so in love with movies he's stayed at his high school job of managing a Blockbuster Video well into adulthood. When he discovers his store is the last Blockbuster in America, he'll go to whatever lengths necessary to keep the lights on and his friends employed. The season consisted of ten episodes. 

Blockbuster is streaming on Netflix.
