Ellen DeGeneres Accidentally Spoils Jennifer Lawrence's Baby News

Seems like Jennifer Lawrence has a son!

The Oscar-winning actress and her husband, Cooke Maroney, had a baby earlier this year and have worked to keep their child's gender under wraps. But during a phone interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lawrence's happy news was accidentally revealed when DeGeneres referred to the baby as "him."

The slip-up occurred on Monday's episode, while DeGeneres was casually discussing the connection she has with Lawrence's home. "People don't know this, but I used to live in the house that you live in now when I started the show 20 years ago," said DeGeneres. "Now I live next door to you, and I'm looking at you living in my house with a brand-new baby."

The daytime host went on to mention Lawrence's role as a new mother saying, "By the way. I do hear you sometimes talking to him. It's really cute... I can hear you go, 'I know!'... It's so sweet."

Although Lawrence didn't seem to mind (she responded, "Aww," and giggled) the reference to Lawrence's baby's gender seemed surprising, especially considering how hard the actress works to keep her life private. In a November interview with Vanity Fair, she expressed a desire to shield her child from fame.

"Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can," Lawrence said. "I don't want anyone to feel welcome into their existence... And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work."
