MTV's Jersey Shore 2.0 has halted production after just one week.
An MTV spokesperson told Primetimer "production has been paused," but did not offer an explanation or any additional details about the shutdown.
According to TMZ, the Jersey Shore 2.0 house in Atlantic City was already prepped with cameras, lighting, and a security guard before things were shut down.
Sources tell TMZ that the sudden pause could have been due to an issue with the cast. Details were reportedly being worked out in hopes of resuming production, but on Friday, TMZ reported that the Jersey Shore 2.0 house was entirely cleared, with equipment removed from the house.
The production crew reportedly emptied the house within four hours, and cases behind the house were loaded with gear.
The reboot is meant to feature a "new group of roommates moving into their own shore house," but the series has been met with opposition by the original Jersey Shore cast.
In a joint statement released on their Twitter accounts, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, and Angelina Pivarnick wrote, "As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see. We gave our all over the past 13 years, became a family and continue to open our lives for the world."
"So please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers," the statement continued, alongside the hashtag #WeAreJerseyShore.
Select seasons of Jersey Shore Family Vacation are streaming on Hulu and Paramount+.
