Oprah, Morgan Freeman, and Bono are among the many celebrities set to pay tribute to country superstar Naomi Judd at her public memorial service this Sunday. CMT will air the service live as part of a special event, Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration, hosted by Robin Roberts.
The live telecast will feature a special message from Judd's daughters, Wynonna and Ashley Judd, and an appearance from Judd's husband, Larry Strickland. Celebrities joining to honor the late singer include Oprah, Salma Hayek, Morgan Freeman, Martina McBride, and Bono, with performances from Brandi Carlile, Ashley McBryde, Emmylou Harris and Allison Russell, Little Big Town, and the Gaithers. Carly Pearce and Cody Alan will be providing commentary.
Judd, 76, died on April 30 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The country singer's daughters released a joint statement saying their mother was lost to "the disease of mental illness."
Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration airs Sunday, May 15 at 6 PM ET on CMT.
