Apple has released the official trailer for Black Bird, a new psychological thriller starring Taron Egerton and Ray Liotta. The limited series marks one Liott'a final projects before his death in the Dominican Republic on May 26.
Inspired by true events, Black Bird tells the story of Jimmy Keene (Egerton), the son of a police officer (Liotta) who is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison. Keene is given the opportunity to enter a maximum security prison for the criminally insane in order to befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser). If Keene can elicit a confession before Hall's appeal goes through, he'll have his sentence reduced, but first, he must determine whether Hall, a serial liar, is telling the truth, or if he's manipulating him.
In addition to Egerton, Liotta, and Hauser, Black Bird also stars Greg Kinnear and Sepideh Moafi.
Black Bird premieres July 8 on Apple TV+ with two episodes.
