Netflix fantasy series The Witcher has paused production on Season 3 due to COVID-19. The news comes amid unconfirmed reports that the series' star, Henry Cavill, had tested positive for the virus.
Neither Netflix nor Cavill's representation has confirmed the actor tested positive for COVID-19 or that he is the reason the show has halted production. Netflix simply stated that filming on the show has "paused due to COVID" and that production will "be up and running as soon as it is safe to do so."
The U.K.-based production previously shut down due to COVID-19 while filming Season 2 in 2020.
Primetimer has reached out to Netflix for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
The Witcher Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix.
