Sylvester Stallone will stick around in Tulsa for another season.
Paramount+ announced today it had renewed Taylor Sheridan's mob drama Tulsa King for Season 2. Only three episodes have premiered on the streaming service so far, but the series has proved to be a success for the streamer.
"With the combination of the incomparable Sylvester Stallone and Taylor Sheridan’s darkly comedic twist on the beloved mobster genre, we have found our latest hit in Tulsa King," said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, Paramount Streaming. "The series' premiere on Paramount+ helped drive a record sign-up day fueled by our unique ability as Paramount Global to tap into Paramount Network’s incredible Yellowstone audience."
Sheridan is also behind series like Yellowstone, 1923, 1883, and The Mayor of Kingstown.
Tulsa King tells the story of Dwight "The General" Manfredi (Stallone), a New York mafia capo who finds that his family isn't acting much like a family anymore following his release from prison. Realizing his new position out in the unfamiliar world of Tulsa, he begins to build a new team of unlikely allies to back him up and birth a fresh criminal empire.
Also starring Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany, and the series is showrun by Terence Winter and executive produced by Sheridan, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood.
