Mariah Carey is officially back. After a seven-year studio album hiatus, the Queen of Christmas is ready to grace playlists again. With rumors swirling (some fans calling it MC16), today Mariah confirmed our hopes: Here For It All drops this September. Her first full-length since 2018’s Caution, this release marks a fresh chapter under her new partnership with Gamma., the independent label co-founded by ex-Apple exec Larry Jackson.
As if that weren’t enough sizzle, L.A. Reid is back in the producer's chair, a reunion three albums in the making. And yes, that hybrid Mariah magic is back: sultry ballads, dancefloor-ready rhythms, and a side of cheekiness. The question of Mariah Carey’s new album has finally been answered, and it’s landing on your ears on Thursday, September 26, 2025.
Mark your calendars Mariah fans: Here For It All, her sixteenth studio album is scheduled for release on September 26, 2025. The announcement came via a slick teaser video of Mimi sashaying in heels with a snippet of the title track playing behind her and she confirmed the date on her Instagram.
This project marks her debut under a multi-album contract with Gamma., a growing indie venture by industry veteran Larry Jackson. And yes longtime collaborator L.A. Reid returns as executive producer: their previous stint together yielded The Emancipation of Mimi (2005) and Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). So we can expect that lush, signature Mariah layering with a modern twist.
The album boasts 11 tracks, including lead single “Type Dangerous,” which dropped June 6 and blends hip-hop-soul with an Eric B. & Rakim sample. That single has already climbed the charts and was performed live at the 2025 BET Awards, where Mimi clinched the Ultimate Icon Award. A second offering, “Sugar Sweet,” debuted as a fun, kitchen-themed snippet on July 19, with lyrics like “Imma keep it nice, Imma keep it sweet”—and is confirmed to be part of the album’s lineup.
Beyond that, tracklist specifics are hush-hush, but based on the buzz, we’re in for a blend of heartfelt ballads and club-ready hits. Mariah mused in a 2024 Variety interview that she’s “written some new songs... excited about it” and spent recent studio time with a choir, teasing the soundscape to come. Clearly, she's crafting something big, sweet, and seductive, much like the woman herself.
In June, Mariah celebrated the lead single Type Dangerous with a remix EP featuring the likes of Big Sean, DJ Snake, Method Man, and more, hinting at the album’s genre-spanning reach. Meanwhile, the “Sugar Sweet” clip (baking-themed and adorable) launched the album teaser floodgates on social media.
With a powerhouse label partnership, veteran production team, and two tantalizing singles already out, Mariah has set the stage. And when September 26 arrives, you’ll likely hear that voice—now fuller, wiser, and more delightful than ever—inviting us to be right there for it all.
