Most procedurals are fairly predictable in the types of ground they cover, but FOX's 9-1-1 franchise isn't like most procedurals. In this clip from Monday night's 9-1-1: Lone Star, the crew's newest member Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) is seen trying to get people out of harm's way during a rare volcanic eruption in Texas (there actually IS an extinct volcano in Austin called Pilot's Knob in real life), only to watch as the guy whose partner they just loaded into an ambulence gets nailed square in the chest by an impossibly hot chunk of magma.
9-1-1: Lone Star airs Monday nights at 9:00 PM ET on FOX.
