Al Roker appeared on NBC's Today show Tuesday for the first time since revealing that he'd been diagnosed with prostate cancer in order to give his colleagues and viewers an update on his progress after having a five-hour surgery.
"I got some good news," Roker said about his trip to the doctor, before playing a montage about his journey that included his surgeons saying he's showing no evidence of any further cancer, but that they will continue to monitor that over the next several years.
He did mention that he felt better after this surgery than he did for any of his joint replacements, but that he's got some swelling around his waist going on that makes him feel like "Bibendum, the Michelin Man."
The fact that he knows The Michelin Man's real name is just one reason why we love Al Roker. He said he hopes to return to the show next week.
