Meghan McCain may be leaving The View, but Desus Nice and The Kid Mero have already found her next gig. In a new episode of their Showtime talk show, the duo suggested that McCain, who's known for her bizarre hairdos, should "host a show where she judges Black hairstyles" now that she's free from her ABC contract. "BET, I know you're thinking about it," joked Desus. "'Meghan McCain is unbe-weave-able!'"
Desus and Mero typically open the show by riffing on a few of the day's topics in their "Goss" segment, and last night, it was Meghan McCain's departure from The View that earned the prime finale spot. "We have some very sad goss to talk about," said a producer, as a graphic about McCain's exit appeared on-screen. "Where's she going after this?" asked Desus. "She should get a cop show. Or a court show in the middle of the day, that could work."
But then, a goldmine of an idea came to him: a BET show where McCain "judges Black hairstyles." Desus joked that BET is already intersted, as he's "seen the memos" about a potential Meghan McCain and Kenya Barris collab called Harris. "McCain-ish," joked Mero, a reference to Barris' many Black-ish spinoffs.
"Has she come out with Bantu knots yet?" asked Desus. "For her last episode she has to. She's really going to rock the boat and be like, 'And what?!'"
"Whoopi's going to be like, 'Girl,'" replied Mero. "And she's like, 'You can't cancel me. You know why you can't cancel me? 'Cause my father was John McCain!'"
Desus & Mero airs Sunday and Thursday night at 11:00 ET/PT on Showtime.
