New Amsterdam Pandemic Response in Season 3 Trailer

When New Amsterdam ended its second season last April, the showrunners had to pull their intended season finale, originally titled "Pandemic," as it was too eerily similar to the then-unfolding crisis. In this new trailer for Season 3, we see that they'll be dealing with the actual pandemic this season as Dr. Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) continues his struggle to remake one of the oldest public hospitals in the country into one of the best. This is no small feat, as he's having to deal with single parenthood to an infant at the same time. Getting closer to Dr. Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) may help with that.

The trailer also reminds us that Dr. Reynolds (Jocko Sims) moved to San Francisco and left the hospital last season, while showing us Dr. Bloom (Janet Montgomery) reckoning with the after effects of her Adderall abuse and the pandemic threatening the life of Dr. Kapoor (Anupam Kher).

New Amsterdam returns Tuesday, March 2 at 8:00 PM ET on NBC.
