Kathryn Hahn appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday night, and the host got right to work trying to get a some WandaVision intel out of her.
Hahn said that all she's legally allowed to say about her character is that she's a "nosy neighbor," as seen in the first four episodes of the weird sitcom world that the characters current inhab. But Kimmel, who's flown his nerd card proudly in the past, went right into popular fan speculation.
"Is Agnes, your character, the villain — or sometimes villain, sometimes not villain — Agatha Harkness in disguise?" Kimmel asked, citing the similar pieces of oval-shaped jewelry they wear at the base of their neck.
Hahn completely ducked the question by sipping her beverage as if she didn't hear it. "Oh, excuse me, I'm sorry. I'm just having a sip of my Pimm's cup." Kimmel laughed and let it drop, moving on to the incredible fact that Hahn has apparently never owned a computer until this week.
It's possible that Hahn's non-response doesn't mean anything at all, since she can't say much one way or the other, but there's also a reason why the Agatha Harkness speculation is popular among fans. The character was a longtime mentor to Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Comics, and it would make perfect sense for her to be there. It could also be a perfect red herring to keep fans guessing.
