"The Alan Brady Show Presents" — an episode so great, even Carl Reiner wanted to participate. In 1963, The Dick Van Dyke Show celebrated the holidays with a special musical episode that served as the first time Reiner actually faced the camera (in a Santa costume, of course). The episode is light on plot, but it features a host of great song-and-dance performances, including "I Am a Fine Musician," a final number that sees Rob, Laura (Mary Tyler Moore), Buddy (Morey Amsterdam), and Sally (Rose Marie), dressed as toy soldiers, sing a German-style folk song about their musical abilities. In the almost 60 (!) years since, "The Alan Brady Show Presents" has become one of The Dick Van Dyke Show's most iconic episodes, and it's not hard to see why.
The Dick Van Dyke Show is available to stream on Hulu, Tubi, and PlutoTV.
