Alex Trebek will forever be remembered for his legendary run as the host of Jeopardy!, but he had a career full of game shows long before original host Art Fleming abdicated and allowed Trebek to ascend to the Jeopardy! throne in 1984.
It's a bit surreal to see him hosting shows like Pitfall and The New Battlestars (featuring Too Close For Comfort's Jim J. Bullock!), and some of these never made it out of the pilot stage (such as Malcolm, where he had a cartoon co-host), but it's also a nice trip back in time to an era when game shows were all the rage.
And yes, Celebrity Jeopardy! was a real thing before it was a Saturday Night Live sketch.
Alex Trebek's final episode of Jeopardy! will air on Christmas Day.
Andy Hunsaker has a head full of sitcom gags and nerd-genre lore, and can be followed @AndyHunsaker if you're into that sort of thing.
