Trevor Noah Rips Anti-Vaxxer Novak Djokovic

Trevor Noah served up a doozy last night when he skewered Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, who was barred from entering Australia for the Australian Open because he has refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

"This was supposed to have been a big week for Djokovic. But like my dream of starring in the biopic of Weird Al, it wasn't meant to be," said The Daily Show host at the top of the segment. A brief recap of the controversy revealed that 71% of Australians were in favor of Djokovic's deportation, prompting Noah to joke, "Damn, it says a lot about you when that many Australians think you're too dangerous to be in your country. I mean, this is the country whose health minister is a giant poisonous spider."

"Australia is the last country that you want to get deported from," continued Noah. "Imagine stepping off a 25-hour flight and then immediately having to get on another 25-hour flight! I don't know what Djokovic thinks is in the vaccine, but it can't possibly be worse than breathing in farts for 50 hours straight."

After some more riffing, Noah was joined by fellow tennis professional Michael Kosta, who jokingly asked "what's a guy gotta do to be allowed to play the tournament?" Added Kosta, "Nine-time champion, three-time defending champion, world number one, tied all-time for Grand Slams, what do you gotta do, Trevor?"

"Get vaccinated," replied Noah. It's really that simple.
