Today on Primetimer, we unveil a term that (according to Google, at least) hasn't yet been used to describe the deluge of content that comes at us most weeks at this time: "The Friday Drop." What was once a dead zone for TV — so much so that less than ten years ago there was talk of the broadcast networks abandoning original entertainment on Friday nights altogether — is now the premiere day (pun intended) for prestige television, as Netflix and its growing stable of rivals unfurl their latest and greatest content just in time for weekend binging.
Today is no exception, with the debut of Netflix's eagerly anticipated superhero drama Raising Dion, and the returns of fan favorites Big Mouth, Peaky Blinders, Into the Dark and Goliath. Here the highlights:
SERIES PREMIERE: The Netflix series Raising Dion follows a young single mother who discovers her son has superpowers. The show is co-produced by Michael B. Jordan who plays the boy's deceased father. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Netflix

The series has other holiday themed episodes in the works. Streaming on Hulu
