Today's top programming choices include fresh seasons of two rebooted series, the mini series revival of a Nickelodeon favorite, and of course, the much-anticipated spin-off movie that continues the story of one of the biggest shows of the Peak TV era. Here are the highlights.
MOVIE PREMIERE: Breaking Bad ended six years ago, but from the moment the show went off the air, there's been talk about the potential for a follow-up movie. Now we have it. Series creator Vince Gilligan wrote, produced, and directed El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie which follows Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) as he flees his former captors while evading law enforcement. This wee, Vince Gilligan assured fans Walter White is dead, but that's exactly the kind of thing he'd want us to think, right? Watch the preview Streaming on Netflix
SEASON PREMIERE: In tonight's season premiere of the rebooted Charmed, Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) assume the responsibilities of the elders as a hooded figure attacks the Charmed Ones and vanishes through a portal. 8:00 PM ET on The CW
SEASON PREMIERE: John Forsythe never dragged bodies from the lake on the Carrington estate, but that's just that happens in the season premiere of the rebooted Dynasty, forcing Blake (Grant Show), Cristal (Nathalie Kelley), Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies), and Adam (Sam Underwood) to assemble matching stories for police and the media. 9:00 PM ET on The CW
MINISERIES PREMIERE: Nickelodeon's horror anthology series Are You Afraid of the Dark? ran from 1990 to 1996 and again from 1999 to 2000. Tonight the series returns, as the network releases the first installment of the show's three part miniseries revival. Watch the preview. 7:00 PM ET on Nickelodeon
MOVIE PREMIERE: This is not the Fred Savage movie you may remember from when you were a kid. Rather, this Little Monsters is a zombie comedy starring Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gad that premiered at Sundance in January, where it was quickly scooped up by Hulu. The action follows a kindergarten field trip that is invaded by zombies when an experiment at a nearby army base goes horribly awry. Watch the trailer. Streaming on Hulu
NEW EPISODE: Returning with fresh episodes, Real Time with Bill Maher's sixteenth season continues. Tonight's guests include Omarosa Manigault Newman, Rebecca Traister, Reihan Salam, Eddie Glaude, and Steve Kornacki. 10:00 PM ET on HBO
