Amanda Seyfried Tackles Elizabeth Holmes, Peacock Dramatizes Joe vs Carole

Real-life drama hits the small screen today as Amanda Seyfried transforms into Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s The Dropout and John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon revive Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin’s feud in Peacock limited series Joe vs Carole. Coincidentally, McKinnon was originally slated to play Holmes, the disgraced CEO of Theranos, but she later exited the series to focus on other projects, including the Tiger King dramatization.

Hulu charts the epic rise and fall of Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes, who became the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire with her fraudulent blood testing technology. Based on the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic,” Peacock’s limited series follows big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin (Kate McKinnon) as she works to shut down Joe Exotic’s (John Cameron Mitchell) for-profit breeding program.
