In the latest episodes of Physical: Asia, Thailand was eliminated following the Death-Match elimination, while Team Philippines advanced to the next stage of the competition.
The episodes featured multiple rounds of structured challenges with teams competing in tasks designed to test strength, endurance and coordination.
Eliminations were determined based on task outcomes and teams were restricted to using individual players in only one round per stage.
The events included a combination of head-to-head Death-Match eliminations and group challenges, which set the stage for Team Philippines’ advancement.
Episode 5 began with the continuation of the elimination game between Thailand and the Philippines.
Both teams faced a round-by-round format consisting of multiple tasks that required handling weighted objects and maintaining control under physical pressure.
Contestants had to coordinate their movements carefully to complete each task. Thailand lost the final round of the Death-Match and was eliminated from the show.
The rules ensured that the team unable to meet the requirements of the round would leave the competition, which led to Thailand’s departure.
The elimination concluded the direct head-to-head contest between the two teams, setting the stage for the remaining teams to participate in group challenges.
The same episode also featured contests involving Indonesia and Japan. Players were required to maintain possession of a ball while facing physical interference from opponents.
In one round, multiple players from the Indonesian team attempted to hold onto the ball despite significant physical pressure, including moments when other players applied weight and leverage.
Fina, an Indonesian contestant, maintained her grip under challenging conditions, while her teammate was injured earlier in the match.
Despite the effort, Team Japan completed the round successfully, which resulted in Indonesia’s elimination.
Another match in the episode involved a boxer competing against a mixed martial artist, where task outcomes determined which team advanced.
Each round was structured with precise rules, including limits on individual player participation and clearly defined victory conditions, ensuring that advancement or elimination was determined solely by task performance.
Episode 5 concluded with the remaining teams divided into groups for Quest 3. Group A consisted of Australia, Korea and the Philippines.
Manny Pacquiao was replaced by Justin Hernandez due to scheduling conflicts. Teams competed sequentially in the four rounds described above, with each task’s outcome determining their ranking.
Strict adherence to participation rules was enforced to maintain fairness and to ensure the competition progressed according to established procedures.
Following Thailand’s elimination, Team Philippines participated in a four-round challenge as part of Quest 3. The first round involved pillar vaulting, where two players ran hurdles and retrieved flags in repeated attempts.
In the second round, two players were required to hold 135 kg totems for as long as possible, testing endurance and stability.
The third round included a hanging challenge in which one player had to maintain a grip on pieces of fabric using rings without faltering.
The fourth round consisted of a sack toss, with a 14 kg sack thrown backward over a 4-meter hurdle and the weight increased after a set period.
Each round required specific players, and team performance in completing these tasks determined overall standing and progression in the competition.
