Actor Glen Powell teamed up with fitness influencer Ashton Hall to promote his upcoming film, The Running Man. Ahead of the movie's trailer drop on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Hall took to his Instagram to share his morning routine with the actor, making a guest appearance.

Hall went viral earlier this year after he shared his extreme morning, which saw him starting his day at sharp 3:52 a.m. It included working out, journaling, and dunking his face in a bowl of ice water, among other activities. He captioned the post:

"From IG reels to the Big screen. The Running Man."

The Running Man is a dystopian action comedy based on a book by Stephen King (under the pen name Richard Bachman). Directed by Edgar Wright, it stars Glen Powell, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Josh Brolin, and William H. Macy, among others.

Ashton Hall's video began with the influencer immersing his face in a bowl of lemon ice water. After wiping off his face with Clean Towels, he is seen working on his laptop around 8:54 a.m. The document on the computer reads, "Glen Powell ‘Running Man’ Training Routine."

Hall proceeds to meet up with Powell by 9:02 a.m., and the pair gets into gear for their training. Notably, they are seen strapping on weighted vests, something the influencer is known for. Following a warm-up routine and a brief drinking break, the pair head for a run. However, they skip Hall's sprints, which he went viral for.

Finishing up by afternoon, Ashton Hall is seen walking to the theaters, where the staff served him fried chicken and watermelon as the influencer watched the trailer for The Running Man.

The film centers around a game show, The Running Man, where contestants, called "runners," must survive thirty days as professional assassins, or the "hunters," chase them. Each day the Runners survive, they receive cash rewards. Meanwhile,

Glen Powell plays Ben Richards, who participates in the competition to help save his sick daughter after the game show’s producer, Dan Killian, played by Brolin, convinces him.

The Running Man is set to hit theaters this November.

Glen Powell is not the only celebrity to rope in Ashton Hall to help promote their work. Record producer DJ Khaled teased his upcoming album, Aalam of God, by starring in a video alongside the fitness influencer in May. The clip saw the pair in between a cardio session, sprinting while wearing weighted vests.

Hall, for his part, made headlines last month after he challenged YouTuber IShowSpeed (real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) to a race. Notably, the latter is known for his energetic and loud streams. According to Fandom Wire, they ended up hitting a park near Speed's streaming set.

While it was a close competition, Darren ended up beating Ashton four times in a row. At one point, despite Hall's insistence on a rematch, Darren started walking out of the park. When questioned why, he replied:

"Because I beat you three times."

The YouTuber even called Hall "Ashton Fraud." Needless to say, the Glen Powell cameo was a much-needed comeback for the fitness influencer.
