RHOBH star Kyle Richards' daughter, Sophia Umansky, opens up about the side effects of her weight loss medication. On Wednesday, April 30, the 25-year-old took to her TikTok to reveal she has been taking Mounjaro for the past four months.

Talking about the concerning side effect, Sophia explained it started about "three weeks to a month" back. She noted:

"I am very lucky that I have so much hair, because at the rate that I’ve been losing hair, I’m gonna be bald in about a week."

Per Healthline, Mounjaro is an FDA-approved prescription drug given to adults with type 2 diabetes. It is taken as an injection and helps manage blood sugar levels. It is sometimes prescribed "off-label" for weight management. Per the outlet, the medication slowly emptys food from the stomach, making one feel full for longer. Further, in some cases, it results in reduced appetite.

In her post, Kyle Richards' daughter, Sophia, kept her long hair down, around her shoulders. To show the "dramatic change," the 25-year-old included pictures of clumps of hair sticking to the walls of her shower and in the sink.

"I’m just going to show you a quick little video of what my hair loss looks like, and this is every day. And you’re not even seeing the half of it," she explained.

Sophia noted that it was actually a lot "worse." She demonstrated by running her hand through her locks, removing "pile(s) of strands.

In the TikTok, the Buying Beverly Hills star stated that she didn't think the hair loss was a "direct result of the medication." She suggested it might have been due to the "rapid weight loss" it caused, adding she might not be getting enough "vitamins (and) protein."

Sophia, who many believe is a double of her mother, Kyle Richards, asserted she was "putting an effort into" getting balanced nutrition to combat the "dramatic" side effect. She told her fans she has been using OMI hair growth peptides. Further, she noted she has been taking collagen and Grüns vitamins.

Kyle Richards shares Sophia with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. They also share daughters Alexia Simone, 28, and Portia, 17. Richard is also a mother to Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, 36. Farrah's father is Guraish Aldjufrie, whom Richards was married to from 1988 to 1992.

Sophia graduated from George Washington University in 2022 with a degree in Psychological & Brain Sciences. Kyle Richards took to her Instagram to congratulate her daughter, writing:

"So incredibly proud of you @sophiakylieee I love you so much & am so proud of you every day. But today my heart was bursting with pride #psychologicalandbrainsciences #georgewashingtonuniversity #classof2022."

Sophia Umansky is not the only celebrity to use Mounjaro. Last week, Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet revealed he has been taking the medication to help with his type 2 diabetes diagnosis since it hit the market in 2022. Unlike the 25-year-old, it worked wonders for Stonestreet.

In a May 2025 interview with People magazine, the actor remarked it was a "game changer." He noted that he has since become a spokesperson for Eli Lilly and Company, the brand that manufactures Mounjaro.
